Designing Your Life for Postdocs - A CTLO short course
The CTLO is excited to offer a new ‘short course' for Caltech postdocs this summer!
Being a Caltech postdoc is both prestigious and daunting, and the experience tends to uncover many difficult decisions that need to be made.
How do you choose the "right" career path for you and your true goals? How can you start planning for that career path now? How do you prepare for the faculty job search? How do you make the most of your Caltech postdoc experience while you're here?
This 3-session series, entitled, "Designing Your Life for Postdocs," aims to help you navigate these thorny questions. Using a process rooted in Design Thinking out of Stanford University, this short course equips you with tools to design a postdoc experience that better aligns with your goals and what you hope to gain from your time at Caltech.
Through seminar-style discussions and reflective exercises, you will learn to use design thinking to develop a constructive and effective approach to designing your postdoc experience and action plan(s) to reach your career goals.
All three sessions are required.
